Hamro LifeBank and Verisk Nepal organized the smart blood donation drive, a one-day blood donation event in partnership with Labim Mall and the Nepal Red Cross Society (CBTS). Out of the 50 people who registered, 43 were eligible to donate blood, while the remaining donors were ineligible because of their various health issues and other reasons. Out of 43 donors, 32.6% were female, which was very impressive. Usually, the female donor count is less than 20%.
At the blood donation event, we placed witty props to engage the blood donors and other individuals, we also encouraged them to take pictures and post them on their social media. All blood donors received food & refreshments, stickers, and also the gift hamper. Likewise, 2 Standees and 1 TV screen were placed at LABIM Mall to increase visibility, and also a live summary of donation data was broadcasted on TV screens at the donation site. We digitize every blood data from collection to supply. Additionally, we sent a Thank you SMS to the donor once the donated blood is used. The amazing positive feedback that we received from the donors has inspired us to work harder in the days to come.
